Tapins missed call
booked job

The job was already yours.

Someone rang while you were on site. It went to voicemail… they just moved on to the next one. You never knew they called.

That's what we fix.

This is what you'd get(this one's made up) Example one-page report: a timestamped log of four calls, the website enquiry, and what it's costing

It was a tap-in. It went begging.

Three ways it leaks

You're not short of customers. A fair few of them just never got through.

1

The call you couldn't take

Phone goes while you're up a ladder, under a sink, or talking to the customer in front of you. By the time you ring back they've booked someone else.

2

The quote that went quiet

You priced it, sent it, heard nothing. You meant to chase. Three weeks later it's too late to look keen.

3

The customer who forgot you

They spent twelve grand with you three years ago and haven't heard a word since. Now they're getting a bathroom done. By someone else.

You've already paid for all three. In advertising, in quoting time, and in the job you did well the first time. And if you're booked out already, more enquiries doesn't mean more work. It means you get to pick the better ones.

How it works

You keep your number, your phone, and everything about how you already work.

Your bit, once
01

Ten seconds on your phone

You tap in a short code I'll give you, and any call you don't pick up rings through to us instead. Ones you do answer never touch us. Everyone else in this game hands you a brand new number to advertise, which means new signage, new website, new Google listing. That's where those setups die, and it's why this one doesn't ask you for any of it.

Then it runs without you
02

They hear back inside a minute

A text lands first, so they know they've not been ignored. Then a proper conversation to find out what the job actually is, whereabouts, when they want it, and roughly what they're expecting to spend.

03

Worth doing? It goes in your diary

Time-wasters and out-of-area jobs don't. Real ones get booked and confirmed, and the details land on your WhatsApp before you're off the roof.

Your bit again
04

You turn up

That's the lot. Carry on exactly as you were.

What it costs

Two ways to pay for it.

Pay as you go
£150

Per appointment attended

A real person, a real job, in your diary, who was actually there when you turned up. If they don't show, you don't pay. If it was never a job worth quoting, you don't pay.

Plus £750 to set it up. Diverting, answering, the conversation itself, your calendar wired in, and me testing the whole thing end to end before it goes near a real customer. One-off.

Fixed monthly
£349

A month, six months minimum

The same service with a number that doesn't move about, so you can budget for it like any other bill. No setup fee.

Better value if you're busy. Worse if you're quiet, and I'll tell you which you look like before you pick.

Neither charges you per call, or per lead, or for anyone who books and then doesn't turn up.

Who you'd be dealing with

Before this, I was the one ringing round.

Alex here. For the last three years I've project managed house renovations, which meant ringing round half of Sheffield for every trade I needed: kitchen, roof, windows, the lot.

The same thing kept happening. Half the firms I rang never rang back, or I'd leave a message and hear nothing for a fortnight. So I went with whoever was easiest to get hold of. Not the best, not the cheapest, just the ones who picked up.

One of those jobs was a £75,000 extension. The firm that got it got it because they answered the phone. There are others round here I'd have happily given that work to, and they've still no idea I ever rang.

I build software for a living, so this ended up as a business rather than just something that annoyed me.

Tapins is new, and I'd rather say that than pretend to be a fifty-person outfit with a stock photo of a call centre. You get me instead of an account manager, and when something needs sorting I'm the one sorting it. The answering itself doesn't depend on me being awake, mind. That part runs on its own, around the clock. I'm who you talk to when you want a person.

Free, no obligation

Find out what actually happens when someone rings you.

Send me your business number and I'll ring it four times across a working day in the next few days, the way a customer would. Then you'll have one page showing exactly what happened, inside a week.

If it turns out nothing's getting missed, I'll tell you that and leave you alone.

The calls themselves take a second. I hang up the moment anyone picks up, so if you do catch one it just looks like a wrong number.

I'll use your number to ring it and nothing else. No list, no newsletter. What I do with it. Or just email alex@tapins.co.uk if you prefer.
